Download Softphone

Use the Softphone to talk via your PC, or take it on the road with your notebook.  Or install it to multiple computers, using our FREE Multi-Roam feature which lets you make and receive calls using whichever phone is near you.

To use the Softphone, you'll need speakers and a microphone (built-in most new notebooks), or a headset with microphone (usb type recommended).

Optionally, to make video calls, you'll need a videocam (built-in most new notebooks).

TyberTel recommends and supports the X-Lite Softphone.  But you can use just about any SIP compatible software or hardware.

Configure Softphone

After downloading and installing the program, click the top-left "Show Menu" button (with white triangle), the click "SIP Account Settings".

Create a new account using your TyberTel information as follows:

• Account Name : TyberTel
• User ID: [Your TyberTel phone number, no spaces or dashes]
• Domain : sip.voipwelcome.com
• Password : [Your TyberTel provided password]
• Display Name : [Your Name, fyi only]
• Authorization user name : [leave blank]

In the "Domain Proxy" section, check the "Register with domain" box and enter the following:

• Address : sip.voipwelcome.com 

Leave everything else (on all 6 tabs) set to default values and click "OK".

 If you have entered everything correctly, the Softphone will register and look like the following example:
